THE PROJECT

We are focused on
developing our flagship
Piauí Nickel Project,
located in northeastern Brazil.

Brazilian Nickel (BRN) utilizes proven and innovative heap leaching technology, a low-cost and scalable mineral processing method, to produce mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) with high nickel content and low impurity levels.

Once in commercial production, the project is expected to position BRN as a significant supplier to the global nickel market and strengthen Brazil’s strategic role in the critical minerals supply chain.

Commitment to Safety and Sustainability

We maintain a structured occupational health and safety training programme for all employees and contractors working within areas under our operational control. Training is designed to prevent incidents, promote safe workplaces, and reinforce a shared responsibility for safety, supporting our commitment to Zero Harm.

Our ESG framework is aligned with the IFC Performance Standards and international best practices, integrating social and environmental considerations into project planning and business decision-making. Through structured stakeholder engagement and accessible grievance mechanisms, we foster transparent dialogue, active listening, and responsible project development.

Project Scale & Production

The Piauí Nickel Project is being developed as a commercial-scale nickel and cobalt operation based on the heap leach processing of laterite ore. The project is designed to produce Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP), a nickel and cobalt intermediate product used in a wide range of industrial and technology applications.

At design capacity, the PNP is expected to produce approximately 28,000 tonnes of nickel and 1,000 tonnes of cobalt per year as MHP. These products are intended to support global supply chains for critical minerals, including battery materials, stainless steel, and other advanced manufacturing applications, through a reliable and responsible source of supply.

Local Jobs

Local Development & Employment

The Piauí Nickel Project is expected to contribute to regional development through local procurement, workforce development, infrastructure investments, and partnerships that strengthen local capacity and support long-term shared value creation.

During peak construction, the project is expected to generate approximately 3,500 jobs, followed by around 850 direct operational roles once in production. Through employment, training, and supplier development initiatives, the project aims to expand opportunities for local workers and businesses while supporting economic diversification and sustainable growth in Piauí and neighbouring communities.
