Brazilian Nickel Opens More Than 2,000 Training Opportunities Through the Mina do Saber Program

Brazilian Nickel, the company behind the Piauí Nickel Project, has opened registrations for another edition of its Mina do Saber (Knowledge Mine) Program. The initiative is offering more than 2,000 free places in vocational training courses across the municipalities of São João do Piauí, Capitão Gervásio Oliveira, Campo Alegre do Fidalgo, and Dom Inocêncio.

Delivered in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI) and local municipalities, the program is aimed at residents of the region. Applications are open until May 20.

The courses available include training for roles such as mason, carpenter, construction assistant, electrical assembly assistant, and other positions related to the construction and industrial sectors.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age, able to read and write, and reside in one of the participating municipalities. There are no gender restrictions, and all courses are provided free of charge, with no enrollment or tuition fees.

Training That Creates Opportunities

The primary objective of the Mina do Saber Program is to prepare local residents to meet labour market demands, particularly in activities associated with regional economic development.

According to Guilherme Pagoto, General Manager of Human Resources at Brazilian Nickel, the initiative has a direct and positive impact on local communities.

“Mina do Saber is a practical way of contributing to the region’s development by providing free professional training and expanding opportunities for income generation. We want people to be prepared to take advantage of future opportunities, including those that may arise with our partners and suppliers,” he said.
